Baritones
Return to Band Members
Ann Squires - Solo baritone

Ann joined Queensbury Music Centre Band in 1974, and during the
next twelve years toured Europe, Scandinavia and America whilst a member of
the Young Ambassadors Band of Great Britain, Girls of Brass and playing Solo
Horn with the National Youth Brass Band.
Ann moved to the Hammonds Sauce Works Band under Richard Evans, and then Lewington
Yamaha Brass under David James. After a short spell with Stocksbridge Engineering
Steels Band, Ann left top section banding due to family commitments but continued
to play regularly with Yorkshire Traction and Yeadon Old Bands. Having not
played regularly since 1999 due to three young sons' sporting commitments,
Ann has finally found time to return to banding and play at Hebden Bridge Band,
but has swapped tenor horn for baritone.
.
Jenny Barker - 2nd baritone

Jenny is another one of our players who learnt her
craft at Wardle High school (and yes she is ANOTHER Lancastrian!).
She has been playing since she was eleven, playing with 'Bear Park
and Esh Colliery Band' whilst she was in the North East at University.
She has enjoyed mixing with Yorkshire folk so much that she has
actually moved to the glorious county (after obtaining the necessary
visa).
