bands at age 18 when he went to Leeds University, playing with
Rothwell Temperance band whilst he was there. After meeting Di
(rep) he moved to Melton Mowbray and joined South Midlands Welfare
Band moving on to Carlton which became Nottingham City Transport
Band. Married Di in 1989, moved back to Yorkshire later the same
year and joined Hebden Bridge in 1991. Steve played as Principal
for
many years, moving to 2nd man down in 2004. He has now found his
true vocation on Solo Horn.

best cook in the band!
Helen Tunnicliffe - 2nd horn

Like other younger band members, Helen started her
musical career at Wardle High School. After a break at Durham University,
Helen came to Hebden Bridge with her friends, and has been a valued
member of the horn section since 2002.
She is one of two road runners
in the band, allong with Kelly.
Preferring concerts to contests, she is not alone in putting performance
above competition.
